That's strange. It works for me. Try moving the window to see if the other
icons are
offscreen, and also try running it with some different flags.

it seems odd to me, but I am able to pop witray into the managed layer with
mod+shift+space and also move it to different tags with mod+shift+x, did it a
few
times by accident, but anyways, I am able to see all of the tray icons when I
do that...
except when skype is involved
the odd one here was skype, it seems that when I run skype with nothing else,
no tray
icon appears....when i run skype with other tray icons there, the tray goes
blank but
acts like im clicking the skype icon when i click anywhere in that tray
Additionally, when I tried pidgin and then checkgmail, the pidgin and gmail
icons
showed up (though the icons are a bit clipped), but the gmail icon moved
completely
off of the screen when i switched the view to another tag
I have attached a few screenshots of different things, I moved witray to the
managed
layer here because it allows you to see all of it
Thanks

It turns out that Skype is just plain evil. Rather than using XEmbed, like it's
supposed to, it sets the override_redirect flag and maps and unmaps itself at
will.
Since the tray expected (perish the thought) its clients to behave reasonably,
it
didn't take account of the fact that it was mapped.
As for the icons being clipped, well, that's the apps' fault. If it bothers
you, just
set a bigger icon size.
