GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.enable alpha (e.g. use xcompmgr)
2.switch between clients or resize clients

What is the expected result? What do you see instead?
Clients aren't displayed properly

uname -a output:
Linux shui 2.6.35-rc5-dr+ #15 PREEMPT Wed Jul 21 20:13:41 CST 2010 i686 AMD
Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 2800+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

I'm using nouveau driver

And here are some screenshots

How do I know it's a alpha problem?

I have the same problem without xcompmgr with wmii before changeset: 2763.

I think that this is an xcompmgr bug. It seems to only happen with certain
conifgurations (and nouveau is known to be troublesome). In my case, even
enabling xcompmgr causes the problem, RGBA windows or no.

My best guess is that xcompmgr doesn't deal well with window managers drawing
directly on their frame windows.

I said:
When I use wmii (earlier than 2763 ,so RGBA is enabled by default) without
xcompmgr,the same problem occurred

P.S.
changeset 2763 says:
Use RGBA windows only when required.
