Hawaii Theme missing and doesn't run properly #13

Open flamusdiu opened 9 years ago

screen09

Getting alot of these like there is a theme or something missing. Also, the dock only showings "Menu" on the bottom right and nothing else across. The application menu (when you click on "Menu") doesn't really work either.

Also, I can't run from tty, it doesn't like that. Currently, I am testing from inside Openbox.

Installed the hawaii-icon-theme-git and hawaii-wallpapers. Then rebooted which seemed to fix the missing icons.

Just an observation but why not make the two install with the rest of the desktop so there is a default theme available.

plfiorini commented 9 years ago

They are optional in theory, although the desktop defaults to them. It makes sense to have them installed by default.

Missing icons: these should be harmless errors, although they will likely translate to missing icons. I see that the chrome desktop entry has a weird icon that will never be in any icon theme, probably a Web application. Can you identify the desktop entry and post it to pastebin? I'm curious to see how it is done.

plfiorini commented 9 years ago

Idea: I can make an icon provider that will provide a generic icon when the appropriate one is missing, this will make the errors disappear and show a place holder icon instead of an empty one.

flamusdiu commented 9 years ago

That might work as well. Just I was having some very odd issues with trying use Hawaii inside of Openbox.

plfiorini commented 9 years ago

Image provider done! :)

What issues?

flamusdiu commented 9 years ago

I will have to load it backup. Maybe I will grab a video. I know for the icons, it was causing some strange panel issues.

Is there a good way to start this from TTY? Seems that I could only get it started from at least Openbox or inside LXqt. I'll post more information in the next day or so.

flamusdiu commented 9 years ago

@plfiorini After loading it up, looks like on the "menu" the programs can be click on and ran (which not to long ago didn't work for me). However, none of the categories on the left work.

If I attempt to run in just in a TTY, I get something dealing with weston and "No file or directory found" but not sure what it's looking for.

plfiorini commented 9 years ago

@flamusdiu category filtering along with search were not implemented, now they both are :)

It runs weston with no path, make sure weston is in $PATH.

Rgr. I'll take a look later today.

Doing the final tests on the offending virtual machine before pushing the changes.

flamusdiu commented 8 years ago

@plfiorini okay. I'll test it on my computer when you push the changes. Just let me know.
