Hi Joe,
During the short MSFS 2024 alpha test preview few weeks ago, I tested the bug for hovering over pop out with flight control being disable and it still exist. But that was an alpha version and hopefully the final release on November 19th does not have this bug. I will test it once again when I am able to get MSFS 2024 install next week. Please stay tune.
I also tried to implement transparent overlay over the undocked gauges but it only works when mouse hovers over the panel. But as soon as you use POPM touch or mouse click on it, the transparent overlay needs to passthrough mouse actions to the underlying gauges which then resulted in the same issue of disabling flight control. I've to see how pop out panel works in the new game to figure out what I can do about this bug.

Hi Stanley,
Great that you 've checked that already during alpha. Sad, that this quite obvious bug doesn't get a relevant amount of votes. I really expected more users of Popout Panel Manager to be affected.
Let's bump it up from time to time at forums.flightsimulator.com and see how it goes.
Thanks,
Joe
There is a bug in 2020 that is pretty annoying and doesn't seem get any attention by Asobo: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/focus-on-pop-out-window-disables-aircraft-controls/406499/14
Probably there is an option to add a transparent overlay, over the undocked gauges to avoid the hover to be recognized as such.
It would be perfect, if you could just check, wether the bug still exists in FS24 and if yes, see wether there's a chance for a workaround.
Thanks,
Joe
