Add the option to map creators change the strengh of the secondary shot
no pls, dont do it, only classic haxball with 5 keys (arrows + x)
Haxblal already have that.. if you shot the ball quickly with the wall in the front you can perform a hard shot. If you shot the ball inmediatly when you recibe the pass you can perform a low shot.
But that is hard to control, two different buttons are better to control that, and its better to be able to control that even when you are far from the wall
This feature could be implemented as an extra option, but otherwise it's bullshit. Actually the current kick mechanic is the main sign which separates newbie and pro players. Those who mastered those kicks in a high level have no problems at all.
@kozlov98, the shot against the wall will be kept, it won't change, my suggestion doesn't imitate or facilitate it since i didn't suggest a 200% strenght. read my post, i only suggested percentages lower than 100%.
@antiseptic so the pro players game will always stay compared to noob players game. noobs can not shot harder the ball with my suggestion.
Please, stop trying to change gameplay. It's pointless. Haxball is an unique game, stop trying to destroy that.

Having a secondary kick button with lower strength is something that I have considered since long ago.
My thoughts are that it would be something that most players can safely ignore since it's rarely desired to have a weaker kick, but it could increase the skill ceiling quite a bit in high level play.
Having a secondary kick is awesome for map creators, like in dodgeball, or 8 pool, you can choose the strenght that most adequate to the situation
That improove on official games like 3v3 or 4v4 its going to change the Haxball. That can be considerated for only maps
The suggestion may seem interesting. Still, I hope that Basro will not take such radical measures to change the gameplay. Many people who have played for years have loved and appreciated Haxball the way he was. In my opinion, u might want to think about itto reaction the use of x, if it is fast, the pass will be stronger, if more gentle, it is more technical. I hope you never think about adding some "super shot" or other "turbo" to the balls because that shit kills the game.
Guys, the idea of this thread isnt to create shoots with over 100% kick strengh of the map, it's idea is to create weaker kicks that are better for passes
I think u dosent need to start change the gameplay and power kick and many keys just dont touch it the game so good as he is now lets keep this like in this mind.
is it possible to add the possibility to change the shoot strenght to add a more strategic play (for exemple differenciate the little distances passes and the long distances shoots)
-either by having 2 buttons: exemple x key to have 100% of the strenght and c key to have 50% of the streght
-or use only 1 shoot key but the strenght will change in terms of distance between the player and the ball: exemple if i press the x key when i touch the ball so it is a 100% strenght shoot, if i press x key when the ball is a little bit distant (2 pixels) it is a 80% strenght shoot, if i press x key when the ball is more distant (4 pixels) it is a 60% strenght shoot and so on...
