Connection Problems in US #1141

For the past few weeks, my friends and I have had an inconsistent but persistent connection problem with any haxball.com room. The room will try a reverse connection or eventually say master error connection and it doesn't discriminate whether its a VPS hosted room or player room. I'm not the only one with issues and it has caused delays in league games where players are unable to join rooms. This seems like a haxball issue not player issue.

Inconsistent issues are very hard to debug. I'll keep an eye out but I haven't seen anything wrong myself.

Could the VPS hosted room you tried have been misconfigured? In particular you have to make sure that the headless chrome runs with --disable-features=WebRtcHideLocalIpsWithMdns because of a relatively recent change to chrome that breaks WebRTC if you aren't behind a router NAT.

Also, don't get too alarmed by the master connection error you got. This will happen if you try to connect to rooms many times in a short period of time because a rate limit kicks in.

The problems have continued and I can't seem to find a single fix. I'm not alone https://gyazo.com/a6ea9394ed4dd55728108fda1b17f99e and it's gotten to the point where in leagues we are offering free reschedules to all teams who can't play. I've tried everything on the connection issues part of the wiki and even tested haxball on firefox, chrome, opera, and edge. Nothing seems to fix it which makes me believe this is a haxball issue.

I've also had trouble connecting to rooms in the past two weeks regardless of what WiFi connection I'm on. People I know on discord servers have shared similar complaints.

It seems to mostly be an issue from ppl in the eastern part of NA. They can also connect to some hosts no problem depending on the location. For example: They have a very hard time connecting to the Iowa(east-centralish) hosts, but can connect to a Chicago(more central) host no problem.

I'm guessing that there's nothing basro can rly do about it

I don't know if this means anything but if I try connecting to haxball rooms on my phone it works just fine. However I'm experiencing the same problems as everyone else on my computer. I'm east coast btw.
