@basro Any words about this thread? The poll is currently 22-1 in favor of the change, which is 96% of the voters
I won't change the name on the button.
Why not? It is to prevent a confusion that shouldn't happen, and its really really simple to do
Is it a coding/API issue? Are there too many instances where the term "Auto" is already used, which would have to be changed? Auto equated to random for nearly 6 years. Over 90% of the community is in favor of the change. This seems more like a "wontfix" than a closed discussion.
As a player who is generally admin, half the room is upset when I move the top players onto the guy's team when he clearly asked for "auto." This means I have to take 20 seconds to manually move all players from specs onto either red or blue, then back, to reinstate the original queue order. It's a very simple fix that would take no longer than 2 minutes, unless there are some of the issues I alluded to at the beginning. Thanks.
No, changing the button is trivial but I like it the way it is. A bit of confusion wont kill anyone and eventually people will forget about the old meaning of auto.
Honestly, you don't forget 6 years easily
I also think the name Auto is better, but the inconvenience is that Auto had a different meaning for everyone, it happens with me when i create a map and i have to fix something, i wouldnt like to change the name, but i have to do this so people can identify the correct one, you can't simply change the meaning of a thing without changing its name
UPDATE: Was banned from the room for 14 hours after using the "auto" button when someone asked for auto. I added the top players and started the game; other admin undid and banned me. No one could clear bans.
I think this should be taken into account, this is what a lot of players think about the 'Auto': 'HiddenName': cara não inteligente (very unsmart guy) [He is talking about you] 'HiddenName': mantem o nome e muda a funçao (keeps the name but changes the function) [He is talking about auto]
A lot of players are unsatisfied with that, and in my opinion this is what matters in the end, what the users think
EDIT: HiddenName is not me, his name starts with M
Players still say auto when they really want to pick a random team. I have never heard a player say "Auto" to mean they want the players at the top of the specs. Everyone just says "Top". It's a minor thing, but I don't understand why Auto was ever changed in the first place.
