haxball doesn't progress anymore whereas lot of ideas are submitted (some are difficult to do, but other are just little things). the developper of this porject has probably no time to continue the developement, so why not let community to help him in order to see the game progress faster?

What are you talking about? There was a gigantic update less than a month ago: https://blog.haxball.com/2019/07/29/update.html

i mean there are a lot of "little" demands that wait for long time and are not implemented. maybe if many users can help they can be implemented faster.

for example if you filter locked rooms by pressing 'show lock' button, when you enter a room and come back to the room list, the button is not activated anymore, you have to repress it (a fix was asked and accepted more than 1 year ago).

yeah you will try to convince me that it is not so important, yeah it is not so important but it is so much comfortable and maybe not so hard to fix, It is only one example among hundred others. but it is not the idea of my question. important or not, i am sure that all these little ideas already given and accepted in this forum a long time ago, could be implemented if several persons could help the developpement.

this new "gigantic update" you told me, implement some few things for the hosts or room server developers/creators yes. but what about the rest of propositions (asked by players/"average persons"?).

one person can not have time to maintain actively this project alone, (there are so much ideas proposed), he has a private life and maybe is bored to frequently work on this, which is understandable, it is for this reason i ask to allow the possiblity to let the community to help in the developpement. the project could be 100x more dynamic i recently read a topic about adding an AI bot player. i understand that one person can be sickened to think about this idea because it asked so much work and this would probably never be implemented, but with the community help it can be.

the situation at the minute is enough. once he allows even couple of developers see the source the source itself will be leaked in future and this means haxball clones everywhere. i like current situation. 1 developer (basro) is enough for this game.

There are already clones out there.

Clones that are all dead after 3 days.

The "gigantic update" is not that gigantic ATM because of the lack of tools. Haxpuck, the only proper way to do maps, hasn't been updated since a long time, therefore we cannot use all the features especially the joints things. Every updated thing has to be done manually, which is not encouraging at all.

Also, I agree on the fact that some patches could be brought regularly, even some simple things, like the password update. Adding some headless functions from time to time that can help are very welcome. Waiting 1 year for something that could have been given 10 months prior is frustrating.

Hopefully we can see more activity. The author is probably not asking for this kind of update every month or something, but just to see the proof basro is not an alien who comes on our planet in summer and goes back to his planet from fall to spring.
