Quickly move items between locations #68

What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature?

I'm looking to track where abouts my girls toys are. We regularly rotate what they have to play with so stuff goes in and out of the loft/attic. Being able to quickly move the new items from teh loft to the toy room and vice versa would be amazing.

What is the solution you are proposing?

Probably multiple ways you could tackle this, not sure if it's best coming from the location view or the items view

Perhaps the easiest is from location view. Just multi-select items then have an action to move rooms.

Multi-select could then be utilised for other bulk actions down the line

What alternatives have you considered?

from each item, have a room drop down, but this would be individual, so lots of user input required drag and drop, but again this is manual and seems like unecessary UI fluff

+1 for this. I may be biased, as I am planning to move to other living location. So would be great to add location boxes then mass update item location from a box to a permanent location in new home :-)

+1 I really want to use Homebox as my inventory management. When we pack for travels, I'd like to be able to move it to a 'travelling' location so my partner would know I've taken something.

Currently I'd have to edit each item individually and it really doesn't appeal. But I love the general data structure - I think it's exactly what I'm looking for.
