minefield Feature request: get Q-numbers from list of Wikipedia articles #72

It would be nice if you could also get a list of Q-numbers for a list of articles/categories from a selectable version of Wikipedia.

Hey, i'm not quite sure what you mean.. Minefield gives you back MID's from a list of Common filepages..not quite sure how that attaches to QID's and articles/categories.. Maybe Petscan does what you need?

I have a script in Google Sheets that does a similar thing as Minefield but then for Wikipedia articles: it looks up the corresponding Q-number for an article from a certain language version from Wikipedia. With Find External Link overview I get a list of articles that point to a site with a new WD property and then get the corresponding Q-numbers for the articles. In Google Sheets I can then also query if that Q-number is an instance of Q5. But I imagine other people might like to do something similar without being able to script. Checking if the list of Q-numbers are instances of the right kind is something that can be done in OpenRefine without scripting skills.

Ah yeah, that seems like a great idea for a new tool. Not sure if i want to extend Minefield to also be able to do that, i like to keep my tools focused on a specific task.
