In this section I decided to split it in half to have one side as "What's On" and the other half as "News". By doing this I made the home page shorter and there isn't so much to scroll through. The What's On section was very easy to develop. I had my date in a box and the event on that date to the left and felt that wasn't enough. I made an iteration to this and added a line to the left of the date to add a simplistic but effective difference that shows each date as seperate links essentially. By looking at the images below it aesthetic implications on the website by making the website more modern.
After some more thinking i feel that it should have a hover state on the elements so it could be developed to have a link to go to a full calendar in the future with JS developments. With the hover state it makes it obvious to the user that they can click on it and it will take you somewhere. This is a functional implication.
Whats On is a section telling the user what is happening according to the calendar
