"Use only 3G Networks" #121

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

The feature I would like to see is: "Use only 3G Networks" option within
Mobile network settings from the H build.

The build I want this on is: future 5.0.x G build

Additional information that may help: This has not been addressed but for
those whom 3G signals drop in certain areas like me, at home and at work,
this feature has kept my 3G signal steady without it dropping down to Edge
or G during browsing and during calls.

There's a way to do this with AnyCut. Make a shortcut to "Phone info". Scroll
all the
way down and look for "Set preferred network type". The default option is WCDMA
preferred, which means that the phone will connect to 3G only when it's
available.
Change it to WCDMA only, this forces the phone to only use 3G.

Do you know of a quick way I can install AnyCut on my G build without using
Apps-to-SD?

@UnK.s...@gmail.com: Thanks so much for uploading that file! I was satisfied
with
the G build but stuck with H because of the "Use only 3G networks" option due
to the
dropped calls issue I have in Houston. I'm hoping this will take care of that
issue
because Houston is supposed to have excellent 3G coverage! Would it be too
much
trouble if I requested a few more apps? If it isn't too much trouble, I'd like
to
ask for Missed Call, Profiles, SMS Backup, Terminal Emulator, and Useful
Switchers.
Either way, thanks again and I really appreciate it!
