android dismounts sd card randomly #237

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.connect via usb with vista
2.wait for vista to try to scan and fix the sd card OR write something to
the card
3.taskbar notification for preparing sd card

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The sd card should stay mounted instead of unmounting.

What build are you using? Do you have apps-on-sd? What radio? Did you wipe
after flashing (yes if you are on an auto-wipe build)?
5.0.2Hr3, no apps on sd, newest radio. yes to wipe

Please provide any additional information below.
I saw that someone posted this on the main xda thread, but he was also
compaining about features. I can not find that post now or anything
relating to it.

5.0.2Hr4 build, latest radio, no apps on SD, wiped at install.

I had this very same issue, SD card would mount and be shown on 'My Computer'
(Vista), could open disk and browse contents, but, as soon as I tried to copy
any
files to the card the phone would disconnect the usb connection, redetect
and 'Prepare the SD card' again. Remount and try to copy again - same again. I
tried
it on XP aswell, card shows as disk but constantly asks to format card. As a
last
measure, before I was about to bounce the phone off the wall, I tried a normal
USB
cable, not the 'special' cable that came with the phone, and JOY of JOYS it now
works properly.

i have used many different cables, the only similarities are they all have
ferrite
cores. I have not tried the stock usb cord, in fact I may have tossed it. >.<
