Applications Moddifying Brightness Don't Work [Any Build] #282

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Flashlight apps, 3rd party screen brightness changers

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
To change the brightness, but instead we get a "force close"

What build are you using? Do you have apps-on-sd? What radio? Did you wipe
after flashing (yes if you are on an auto-wipe build)?
Any build, any wipe.

This is one of the major changes Google has put in the 1.5 code base, apps now
need
to request flashlight permissions or check for exceptions or they will crash.

Agree with Deltafoxtrot, people need to write new versions of code to have this
work
with 1.5 (cupcake). There is a new Flashlight app in the market that proves
this
because he coded it from the 1.5 dev source. search for flashlight cupcake and
you
should find it.

Suggest to close issue.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, I'm using 'flashlight' which used to work before I flashed the new
1.5 rom.
Just tried it on the cupcake build and it works perfectly.

which flashlight app exactly, there is about a dozen of them and 5 named
'Flashlight'

Most of them have either been updated or removed. I know there is a "Flashlight
For
Cupcake" that's been made. But what I'm talking about is stuff like Useful
Switchers,
when you try to modify the brightness directly it force closes. But this
problem has
already been answered, with the new ADP 1.5 code changing.
