Do you have broadcast SSID turned off on your router?
Do you have 802.11G enabled?

I am using the most recent build, but this problem has been present in all
previous
rooted builds that i have used.... all other computers and my psp, even my old
windows mobile phone are able to discover and connect to my network so i assume
that
the ssid is being broadcast and that 802.11g is enabled.

Did you upgrade to the latest radio firmware too?

i have the latest radio version, the latest build version with applications
saved to
the sd card. but its the same when they arent saved to the sd card.. i just
spend 3
hours toiling over that... im pretty new to this stuff.. especially the bits
where i
have to type things into a shell or terminal... or yeah.. you get the point.
anyway
everything is the latest and greatest, but still no recognition of my ssid... i
will
try playing with my router tomorrow.

Did you try manually entering the SSID into the wifi section?

alright i played with the settings on my router.. i hope this wasnt a known
issue if
it was im sorry for wasting everybody's time. anyway the encryption setting
had been
set for "tkip or aes" i switched it to only aes and now its working fine... i
think
its weird though that it didnt even show up in my ssid list.
