SMS Problems #343

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.messaging
2.sending an sms. the person i send it to receives it
3.but i was told they were replying but i never got an sms from them

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
normal send/receive sms is expected but i never get one back, i get a text
i got before i did the update 5 hours ago and it says its from a different
person than the one who originally sent it.

What build are you using? Do you have apps-on-sd? What radio? Did you wipe
after flashing (yes if you are on an auto-wipe build)?
im using the 6.0r1 build. i dont have apps to sd or on sd. i have the most
current radio. i didnt wipe after flashing.

Please provide any additional information below.

sms is pretty much all i use this phone for besides watching your
aesthetics, please help me!

Try to wipe user data.

I am having the same problem.  However, I wiped all data before installing. I 
had quite a few issues 
getting 6.0r1 working, the whole SPL problem, but now it works fine.

 I get a notification (green light comes up, alert plays) but no icon or anything in the SMS app. Any 
ideas?

Issue resolved. To fix, wipe your phone between updating from 6.0 to 6.0r1.
Apparently, the network fixes in 6.0r1 conflict when flashed on top of 6.0, 
hence the
lack of SMS. Just wipe the phone in the bootloader and re-flash 6.0r1

I did the wipe, the re-flash and it worked until I rebooted.  Once I rebooted, 
I get
the same error as lukekirstein.  I get the light and the alert tone but no icon 
and
nothing in the sms.  I also have all my messages before the reboot show up as
1/1/1970 dates and no sms.

Please help.

Try reflashing and rebooting. Also, be sure you have the latest radio/SPL.
