SU application fails if USB debbuging is turned off #362

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.turn off usb debugging
2.start connectbot to open a local shell
3.type su

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The screen freezes on "SU Resquest". Then message asking for Force close SU
: not responding. Have to ctrl-C in the shell after that.

What build are you using? Do you have apps-on-sd? What radio? Did you wipe
after flashing (yes if you are on an auto-wipe build)?
build : dream_devphone-userdebug 1.6 DRC83 14721 test-keys
Radio : 2.22.19.26I
Wipe : yes

Please provide any additional information below.
Sipdroid was running. Probably nothing to see with the SU issue but you
knows ? Not me.
