A large amount of emails are posted and sent when you set the associated mailing list to be able to post and receive from each other. As seen below, we have two mailing lists Test3 and Test5 where each of them allows the other to forward post and receive emails from each other. The issue still happens when one mailing list can forward and receive and the other mailing list can forward. So for example, if Test3 can forward posts to Test5 and Test5 can receive and forward posts the cycle is still create if a post is made in Test3.
Additionally, I think the associated mailing list functionality is not very user friendly since the other mailing list has to also set to receive/forward posts for the functionality to work.
