Description: Screen boots into landscape mode. If Auto-rotate screen is 
disabled, the orientation will revert to portrait after a hardware key is 
pressed (other than the power button and volume keys).
Recreation: Occurs on boot.

the update to the newest ADW Launcher fixed that for me
