Giving additional input when raising one's hand #390

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
When there are many people in a conference, such as over a hundred, the
raise hand feature could be enhanced to provide the moderator/presenter
with more information.

For example:

  # When a user raises their hand, BigBlueButton could display a dialog box
asking them for the question.

  # When BigBlueButton displays users in the Web module, it could move
users who raised their hand to the top of the list.

  # When the presenter or moderator moves their mouse of the user's name
who raised their hand, a tool-tip could occur that shows their question.

Dear Fred!

I would like to show something relation with this theme.

When someone rise up the hand, and you move the mouse cursor over this hand,
system will show date and time.
This is a very good feature because moderator can see the order of rising.
But unforunatly this date and time show the login time instead of rising of the
hand.

What's your opinon about this?

Hi Scheer,

This is a good suggestion. We've planning the 0.7 iteration and might be able
to do
some small features such as this (no promises!).

Good feedback though ... you can expect the raise hand feature to receive some
enhancements in an upcoming iteration.

hello,

I'd rather see a small numerical suffix/icon on top of the risen hand that
would directly show the order in which they were arisen. (moving them above the
ones not waving is OK too).

This number would represent the queue of people willing to talk, and would need
to be updated each time someone in the queue (usually the one with number 1) is
given the speech.

This basic mechanism of "turn of speech" exists in tool flashmeeting.com and is
of great help in managing the webconf. Latter on you could couple it with a
button for the current presentor: "I'm done talking", that would give the floor
to next in queue (hand with suffix "1")

Thanks!
Berteh.

forgot to add a screeshot of mentionned display in flashmeeting... for
illustration purpose. See how the hands indicate the order? the next in queue
is noted below (2), and the "I'm done talking" button is (9), that gives the
floor to the risen hand with 1 (Peter in this case)
