From Wendy's point: patients typically know what we call "Auto-Direct mode" as "One-Muscle" controls. Maybe we should change the terminology to be consistent. This might be better suited as a new issue rather than a comment here.
Also, we need to be careful that the "left" and "right" options do not cause confusion. A player may become confused as to what this selection means, for example, could be interpreted as:
In the existing "Auto-Direct" mode, any detected muscle stimulation (from either flexion or extension) directs MoMo towards a nearby gap. However, one use-case for this mode is to help patients who are having difficulty isolating contractions between their inner- and outer-forearm muscles. If the mode had the ability to consider only input from one of the 2 input sources, it would be more beneficial for this use-case.
Proposed Solution
Beside the "Auto Direct" option in the Game Settings menu, add a series of radio-buttons labelled "left", "right", and "both", to allow the user to select which input signals are considered during gameplay.
