Thank you for this PR, but what's the point of all these changes? It looks like python.vim from the Vim repo with some minor additional changes. But it's hard to see what's the list of all the changes in this PR. Moreover it removes the list of contributors and removes better description of options. I also don't like how Python 2 and Python 3 modes are mixed in the mainstream python.vim.
I can't merge this PR. Please send smaller distinct PRs for every change you want to apply.
