Can't open Code OSS (Respian) #94

Closed jan-tennert closed 2 years ago

Hey I recently tried to install Code OSS - it worked but if I try to start nothing happens. Anyone know how to fix this?

OS: newest Respian Type: Respberry Pi 4 (4 GB RAM)

One thing to remember is this repo just provides builds of the main VS Code repo for ARM processors. Any sort of incompatibilities would likely have to be addressed in VS Code's source.

That being said, I've found that the most recent version to work is 1.29 from this release 16-Oct-18

Edit: Just tried out the latest 1.42 release and it worked fine. I'm also using a pi 4

1.42 doesn't work for me :(

I suspect that these are missing dependencies. I already encountered the problem when I tested this for the first time. https://github.com/headmelted/codebuilds/issues/67#issuecomment-563477967

Can you start the code-oss via terminal and post the output here?

Latest isn’t working for me as well. Here’s the output from my terminal.

/usr/share/code-oss/bin/../code-oss: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/share/code-oss/libxcb.so.1: file too short
