Detailed view: 
- boxes/piles as in iCal

Statistics view:
- pie charts, piles, etc.
- perhaps better to let Excel/Numbers do this?

I'm happy to help try to define what we want this feature to look like, through
mock-ups in Excel/Numbers/whatever, if that would help.

Yes it would help much. I don't know what people want/need, so perhaps you 
could start by thinking about what 
kind of graphical/statistical views you would like to have.

Attached is an example pie chart (showing top-level aggregation over a month) 
and a
horizontal stacked bar chart (comparing top-level aggregation for two months).

They were created using Google's online Chart API, because that was fairly easy 
to
use, and has labelling done well.  If it's of any help the URL for the two are:

Thanks! I didn't know about Google Chart API, it looks quite easy (as a pie?).

It's not my first priority though...

Indeed, not a priority.  And I'm not suggesting using Google Chart API as such, 
as it
obviously needs an internet connection, and you'd need to check the terms of 
use if
you embed it in a different product (though probably fine if its open source).
