My concept for this project was to essentially take the lyrics of one for my favourite songs, Dearly Departed by Marianas Trench, and make a soft and minimalistic piece of typography work out of it. I chose these typefaces because I thought they contrasted really well, and I needed them to stand out different from one another. This also ties in with my type scale, I needed “masterpiece” and “Porcelain” to be bigger than the rest of the type for a specific reason. This song is written about the lead singers ex, and this particular portion of the song, he incorporates song titles of songs that he had wrote about her on other albums, within the lyrics. So I chose for those song titles to stand out and be a bigger font, and a different typeface. I chose the colours because the couple being talked about in the song we’re going to get married, and that made me think of Tiffany + Co. I used the grids and modular to change the text sizes, and to just make the website more responsive. I had to overcome a lot of challenges with the positioning of the text. It took a few tries to get it exactly where I needed it to be. I also had a lot of trouble getting my icon to appear on the website because it just wasn’t cooperating. @muxlowc
