From the installation troubleshooting section of the readme:
If you can load a mission, but can’t take control of the A-4E-C, ensure you have installed Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 Redistributable libraries. Restart your computer after installation of the appropriate libraries. For most users, this is vc_redist.x64.exe

It's still acting the same.
BTW: I'm on Windows
very strange. maybe you can hop onto the discord server and we can try some things live sometime. do you have any overactive anti-virus or system scanning software that might be deleting, disabling, or quarantining the flight model file in the bin
folder?

In the instant action missions that come with the A4, when the mission starts, I am immediately put into the F10 map and cannot take control of any plane.
In the mission editor:
I am able to see the plane and icon, and I can hear the music and such, so I think the installation was successful. I did install the visual studio libraries as per this Because the issue is so similar to when one doesn't install the libraries, maybe I installed them incorrectly.
