Working just perfect. You are a genius. Thanks so much. I was planning to
restore the
iphone with iTunes in recovery mode but while searching I discovered this post
and
gave it a try. Now works. Thanks again!

Please, help!!! Getting desperate.
First my iPhone 3GS info:
Version 3.1.3 (7E18)
Model MC136LL
I did a successful jailbreake with Spirit of my phone. Then, I downloaded
iphonebrowser, but my private files are not showing and it says that the phone
is not jailbroken.
I have downloaded PList Editor and WinSCP to my computer (windows 7 64 bit, but
I am not sure if I need to download them to my phone instead. Sorry, I am very
green on this topic. So, now I am stock because I do not know what to do next.
Rebooting my phone jails the phone again and I have to jailbrake it again.
Can someome please help me detailed steps on how to do this so I can see all
the files in iphonebrowser?
Thank you so much.

@#107
Is this the first time you've jailbroken your iPhone?

Please install afc2add from Cydia to enable full filesystem access.

Spirit has some issues. I am uncertain just what they are...have not paid close
attention. If you can wait until the jailbreak for iPhone 4 is released you
wiil have a more robust piece of software.
Baseband 3.1.3 may also prevent some functionality.
I am personally waiting for the entire package.

@108.
Yes, my first time and my first iphone.
@110.
Thank you, I will try that and say if it worked.
@111.
After reading several places, it was the only one said to work with the MC
model and update from Apple. If everything else fails, I guess I could restore
the phone and try the one for iphone 4.
TO ALL: Thank you so much for answering. This is totally new for me and what I
know is just from reading this weekend. I will post my experiences in case they
help others.

how do i find the iphones ip address

In what context? If it is on a wireless network, go into Settings, press the
little blue circled arrow to the right of the connected network, and see your
TCP/IP properties.
If it is plugged into USB, that communication does not use TCP/IP and there is
no IP address.

My iPod
3G 32GB
Model MC008BT
Firmware: 4.0 (8A293)
Jailbroken with jailbreakme.com. Everything went smooth but when I run IPB for
the first time it says not jailbroken. Downloaded Services.plist with WinSCP
and the section you are mentioned *existed*! Still IPB does not recognize my
iPod as jailbroken. What I finally did and worked?
Take a look at my Services.plist at the important section:
<key>com.apple.afc2</key>
<dict>
<key>AllowUnactivatedService</key>
<true/>
<key>Label</key>
<string>com.apple.afc2</string>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/usr/libexec/afcd</string>
<string>--lockdown</string>
<string>-d</string>
<string>/</string>
</array>
</dict>
As you may notice there are two extra lines there. These:
<key>AllowUnactivatedService</key>
<true/>
I deleted them so now the Services.plist has this section:
<key>com.apple.afc2</key>
<dict>
<key>Label</key>
<string>com.apple.afc2</string>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/usr/libexec/afcd</string>
<string>--lockdown</string>
<string>-d</string>
<string>/</string>
</array>
</dict>
and replaced the original on my iPod. IPB works fine again. I dont know if
changing only the <true/> argument to <false/> would do the trick but still
after one week after deleting at all that line my iPod works fine.
I wish I helped a bit.
Take care.
