hedyorg / hedy

Hedy is a gradual programming language to teach children programming. Gradual languages use different language levels, where each level adds new concepts and syntactic complexity. At the end of the Hedy level sequence, kids master a subset of syntactically valid Python.

💻 Remove achievements #5644

Closed jpelay closed 2 months ago

A few meetings ago we decided to remove the achievements for the following reasons:

  1. We don't think they offer a lot of value to kids, who often skip through them.
  2. They're patronizing to teachers, congratulating them for the most basics of tasks.
  3. They're overall a burden to maintain in a time where we are trying to focus more on things that offer the most value.
