For the database and ultimately the preference pane: 

— to enable the menu: 

defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled -string YES 

— or to disable the menu: 

defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled -string NO
