diaspora is just one of many projects creating distributed social web. It would be better to support the standards which are being developed by the W3C Social Web Working Group.
But there are too many pods. That's the problem of diaspora.
I'm a diaspora* core contributor
@akuckartz we're working together with the w3c group. There will not be a standard there for years, so I would recommend to be compatible with diaspora* waiting for that.
@kwoxer this is not the problem, this is the solution. We need always more pods, the web has to be decentralized. Look at the "share on diaspora' project linked above to deal with the problem "where should this content be posted".
We will not implement this ourselves, but pull requests are welcome. Please keep in mind that the Diaspora logo must not be included (not even in your git history).
@compeak we can of course give you the authorization to use the logo if the project keeps the spirit of diaspora* :)
One could use the data from this plugin: http://sharetodiaspora.github.io/about/
added: - it's next to the tumblr button http://craiq.github.io/shariff/ logo is what fits best from font awesome I used http://sharetodiaspora.github.io/about/ - very easy to include with this
Thanks a lot!
@craiq Could you make a pull request?
@annando done :)
@craiq Your pull request (#129) has been merged. Thank you for your contribution.
Would be nice to have a "share on diaspora" option too. I know they are not compromising privacy, but it is a kind of shame that they are missing because of this. On first klick the the user would provide his pod-address which then would be stored locally.
