Miner moved to wrong hex based on address #332

Perfect Lava Crab I moved my miner to a new address which should have been a vacant hex. But it was moved to a nearby hex with two other miners. 8610 Fanellanwood Pl Dallas TX 75238 United States By the explorer map, I would think this should be in the hex to the south which is vacant. I made the move to increase the miner’s possible rewards.

Thank you for your review in advance.

sorry this is unrelated to blockchain-etl. Please ask in discord in the explorer channel

I switched to Discord.

FYI support told me to post here.

Helium Support support@helium.com Thanks for reaching out.

As the accuracy is not down to the meter, there are some edge cases where Hotspots that within a short distance of the edge of a hex will be placed in one or the other. On the map, it will always show in the center of the hex, which if it's on the edge could make it seem even further. As long as your Hotspot is within a few hundred meters of its true location, it is fine as far as the network goes and does not need to be reasserted.

If you do feel there is a still a bug with your Hotspots location in this regarding the hexes, please submit a ticket directly to github with the relevant information: https://github.com/helium/blockchain-etl/issues or join the #poc-discussion channel in the community Discord chat (https://discord.gg/helium) and the team and members there can help clarify things a bit further if needed.

This issue should be filed in the explorer repo if there is an issue with display. Otherwise just posting the support email is not enough helping much but I’ll ask them to point to explorer next time
