While the student can be exempted from the module, adding the module regardless would fulfil its requirements in the Graduation Requirements anyway. Furthermore, it is also possible to take exempted modules as Unrestricted Electives in NUS. Thus, it is intended and allowed to enroll in modules that you declare to be exempted from.
