It would be great to have this out of the box. It probably is worth considering using: pf-badhost in combination with unbound-adblock to avoid too much maintenance burden.

@moesasji thanks for the suggestion. Is there a way to easily switch those things on and off? How?

My guess it that this should just be a case of stopping/starting the unbound and/or pf service or restarting with a different block-list?

btw) with unbound being in base and native to the BSDs I personally don't really see why one would want to opt for Privoxy. In particular with https now effectively the default a proxy solution doesn't help as much as it used to do.
