file name extension prevents viewnior from opening the file

it may not be viewnior that's at fault, but here's what happens :

• in a test folder, I simply have a valid jpeg image my-image.jpg that viewnior opens without any problem
• if I copy this image into the folder and remove the extension (M$ concept), viewnior opens this new my-image file without any difficulty
• if I copy this image again and change the extension to bin or png for example, viewnior opens these new my-image.bin and my-image.png files without any difficulty
• on the other hand, if I copy once again this image and change the filename extension to dll or txt for example, viewnior no longer knows how to open these new my-image.dll and my-image.txt files.

hi,

the problem seems to come from shared-mime-info which influences the behavior of viewnior : if I remove the glob elements from the /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml file (provided by shared-mime-info package) and update the mime database (with update-mime-database), then viewnior opens the my-image.dll file without any difficulty.
