GBC getting stuck on downloading BSE SENSEX data #68

please solve the issuse of downloader v2.1.13a is also not working ,if any body knows then please give solution

H.K,sir tried on this but cleared that this may or may not work however he has taken all the care that it works.I am also facing same issue but he did his best and we have to respect and appreciate his efforts.

Hi Sir,

In this version also BSE loading is having issues. It is getting stuck..

What is the windows version you are using GBC on ?

Request to H.K Sir, Which .Net version is required for version 2.1.13a?I suppose it should be above 4.As 2.1.13a also shows same error which 2.12a was showing and could not open .exe..but old version 2.1.11a gets downloaded even today and can extract .exe easily which is not possible with 2.1.13a.i think .netversion is reason and for xp users, it would not be possible unless upgrades OS.

Closing as fixed, but cannot test as I don't have XP. Will let XP users test can let me know if working or not.

2.1.14a is still on dotNet 4.0 and hopefully should work on XP. @karan1961 , please try and let me know on this issue if that works.

This is my last attempt for XP users, next version will be 3.0.0a and will be dotNet 4.6 based which is not supported on XP.

Using 2.1.14a on Windows 10 here. I still see this issue where it gets stuck at download SENSEX for 22-August-2018. Exact behavior as mentioned in https://github.com/hemenkapadia/getbhavcopy/issues/68#issuecomment-457939434

Then i have no idea...i develop it on windows 10 and it works perfrctly fine

Still facing the same issue in 2.1.14 version. Using Windows 10 latest version.

Interesting that should not happen.

I want to capture details on how many ppl are facing this issue and how many are not.

Also please share details of your OS and dotNet framework version, both those who are facing as well as not facing the issue. Hopefully, we can see some trend in the data that can help isolate the behavior.

Also what happens when it gets stuck? How long does it get stuck? All HTTP requests do eventually timeout with an exception. Can you please wait for it to timeout? What is the exception in that case?

Internally the file is CSV. Change the file name from something.txt to something.csv

Sir, I have WINDOWS xp.The last version i suppose is ...2.1.14a..is working absolutely fine. .Network is 4.(though unsure as i get confuse as i am not that techsavvy)but i am sure if this woks on 4,then its 4,as the previous version 2.1.13a was not working.means if previous version was on .network higher then 4,then mine is not that .also i think xp can have .network 4 only on higher end.

Well,so I vote "DOWN" for the issue. If any other information i can give,I will be more then happy to do it. Once again, I thank HK Sir for pains taken for 2 or 3 persons like me who uses xp still. I also would like to donate "whatever possible" fro my side to encourage HK Sir for taking so much pains.I reuest HK Sir to provide information to transfer INR.I use only my bank(online) and have no other options like paypal or paytm. GUYS,A small amount from us would help HK Sir to help us more in future.I deeply wish everyone should reciprocate his efforts and time spent for us by donating whatever possible. I am also sure if he charges "REASONABLE AMOUNT" from us" then also we would for sure pay because remember "NOTHING COMES FREE" specially the "quality of sincerity ,service and the time ,he spends for this. Hi Hemen,

I updated my Windows 10 to the latest version. dotNet Framework is 4.7.2

Gets stuck when downloading SENSEX.

I don't see any exception as such but the download button becomes active again as if the whole operation has completed.

Please note that this happens when i download old data but if I try to download recent data it works fine.

I think the problem is when the server does not have the data i.e when trying to fetch data for a date which happens to be a holiday. Please try fetching data for 22nd August, 2018.

I'm very certain about the behavior. The downloading stops while downloading the data for the day the markets are closed. I've opened the market holidays page (https://www.nseindia.com/global/content/market_timings_holidays/market_timings_holidays.htm) and observing the same. Do check at your end.

I tried downloading yesterday's data for BSE. It didn't work. So don't think it's limited to Holidays' issue

I'm able to reproduce the behavior. Apart from the holiday I'm able to download everything in the expected fashion. There is something different between our systems then which is playing a role.

Just to help in narrowing down the problem can you double check your DotNet Framework version (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/migration-guide/how-to-determine-which-versions-are-installed). I see that you have the same one as Hemen's and mine.

I just want Hemen to try to download for the day the markets were closed and see the behavior. This will ensure that we have systems were the behavior is same.

Just my two cents.

Yeah I always download late in the night when markets are closed for the day. That may be the issue.

I did refer the same link to identify dot net version yesterday before posting. Now in office. If you want will recheck again today night.

No. When I say the markets are closed that means the markets had a holiday on that day.

I too download after 8.00 pm on the same day and things work for me.

Kindly try downloading data on a day when holiday is there. e.g 2nd Oct 2018. You may be able to reproduce the problem. I am using WINDOW 7 Professional Service Pack 1

i have windows 7 Professional X64 version nse data is downloading fine but not bse data it is stuck as mentioned above. i am just trying to download data from jan 01-2019 to feb 2 - 2019. The .Net framework in my system is 4.7.2

@tjagad - you are a genius. Yes, I could reproduce the issue for 22 Aug 2018. This is interesting as i have never seen the Exception catch logic fail.....

The issue is still on... GBC stucks on downloading BSE SENXSEX data I have upgraded to windows 7 sp 1 Microsoft .net 4.8 version in installed which is higher than the require 4.6 version
