The Google Maps version 3.5 fixes many bugs in 3.0, especially the display of 
items in firefox. It would be necessary to use the api version 3.5.

With the latest version of gmapsz, you may specify the version as need as 
follows:

<gmaps version="3.5" ...

however, google will choose the version automatically with the default setting.
