I was getting the same error - make sure you've entered all the necessary info
in settings.py

I created a new user and gave out a temporary password and that the user will
be prompted to change that password on their next login. When that user logs
in I get the following error. "Unknown Error. Please Try Again."

I have been having problems with the users trying to login and change their
password.
I found a temp way around it, but it is getting really annoying. If the users
password is a temp password it will require them to change it anyway. So I
unchecked the box for "Require a change of password in the next sign in". Once
that box was unchecked it let the user login and change their password.

Still, having an issue with this on transitioned accounts to the new
infrastructure. I have Google techs looking to it for me. Anyone else that
transitioned over want to try it?

We see the same problem, with the "User must change password on next login" not
working. Transitioned accounts don't seem to be any worse affected than
non-transitioned ones.

Jpud read my discussion here
(http://groups.google.com/group/google-apps-improved-login/browse_thread/thread/
17051e4f69e717e4) about this, espically the last few posts. Basically, the
"User must change password on next login" will be disable when you have the SSO
turned on so you must use a different solution to reset them. I chose to use
the Google Apps Directory Sync Tool with sha1hexfltr
(http://code.google.com/p/sha1hexfltr/) to rehash users password. Works great
now. And in the end makes more sense. Single password for everthing is a nice
idea.
