Problem starting Refine: Freebase Gridworks opens #253

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click on google-refine.exe
2. Firefox opens Freebase Gridworks, no projects shown

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see Refine, saw Gridworks instead (without a project shown either).
(Gridworks still runs successfully when I run Gridworks.exe from C:\Program
Files\gridworks)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Running C:\Program Files\google-refine-2.0-r1836 on Windows XP

Please provide any additional information below.
The first time this happened I manually copied one project to C:\Documents and
Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Refine, hoping that
would appear as a project and that despite the screen appearance it was
actually Refine rather than Gridworks (1.1 - r878) running.

I attach a screenshot.

This sounds like it may be due to an agressive browser cache (I've run into
similar things in the past). Could you try using shift+refresh in your browser
when you run Refine?

Worked a treat. I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it myself. Thanks a
lot.
