meaning of self.typo elements in add_noise script #1

I read your add_noise script but can not understand this:

self.typo = {"ă": ["aw", "a8"], "â": ["aa", "a6"], "á": ["as", "a1"], "à": ["af", "a2"], "ả": ["ar", "a3"], ...

Could you explain the meaning of the 2nd element, e.g. "a8", "ô5", ...

Its VNI encoding. Example: a8 ~ ă
