I took a pass over the draft. Let me know what you think.

Before I send it to Larry, can you guys find out if your teacher has letterhead for your school that we could use to make the letter look more professional?

jackstolt commented 4 years ago

@callahantiff Right now we are all in Arizona getting ready for our cross country race. Our teacher said that she would have to be the one using it on our behalf. We can’t use it on our own. We will look over the draft tonight and let you know if it sounds good

@callahantiff It looks great to me! Very professional and descriptive. I was thinking we would keep it shorter but if you think this will still keep their attention then it checks out for me.

@LEHunter - Here is the student's email that they would like to send to several database owners to request access to data. Would you mind taking a look when you get a chance?

Looks good to me.

Awesome, thank you @LEHunter! @jackstolt @henrylittle21 @lajohnson02 - once you are back in town let's talk through the strategy for sending this out. Let me know when you are ready.

Hello @callahantiff, sorry about the late response. This week I have been pretty swamped and it's all starting to clear up. The week before this we had an incredibly successful presentation to our class on our project and everyone is interested in our topic. But the bottom line is we think the email draft looks good and we are ready to work through the final details of sending it out. What else do we need to figure out for the email?

That's great news! I am so glad to hear that it went well! πŸŽ‰

The next step is to gather the information needed to create a customized version of the email draft for each of the websites. Once that is done, you can start sending out the emails. Does that make sense?

jackstolt commented 4 years ago

@callahantiff that totally makes sense. We can get that done and sent out soon.

Perfect! If you'd like me to help proof read just let me know! πŸ˜„ πŸ‘

I think we should also get an in person meeting scheduled before Christmas. Can you guys let me know what the next two weeks look like?

callahantiff commented 4 years ago

@jackstolt - Saw the emails go out yesterday, nice job! Let me know what you hear back.

To help us keep track of dates, who was contacted and their responses, I have added a section to the Data Gathering Wiki page (here).

Could you please take a look at the table I added and update the information before we meet this week?
