I came here to make the same request, the Paradox games installer for example, takes like 6 'allow' actions to be able to setup and update, having to be restarted each time it fails to get through the firewall :/

While i agree folder level permission would fix this, im not sure how secure that would be, as it might be exploitable? not sure, so perhaps with some kind of timeout? anyway, would be great if there was soltuion for this though.

Thanks devs, for this very useful and easy to use piece of software, and if any of you read this: no rush, but dark mode please!

"Windows Firewall Control" has a similar (hidden) functionality in its notification rules:

  1. All upercase allows an application
  2. All lowercase disallows an application
  3. it checks from the left and from the right for matches

This is definitely necessary. This will help avoid something like this. C:\users\ivan\appdata\local\temp\c4uq0ira.g2b\resources\app\servicehub\services\microsoft.visualstudio.setup.service\backgrounddownload.exe
