[Question] how to setup ipv6? #1818

Hi, for now ipv6 is blocked by simplewall. And I can enable it by checking ICMPv6 but I'm not sure what this actually does. The text says that if not specified this allows any application to use this and I'm a bit confused here because I don't want every app to bypass which apps are allowed to access the internet. Could someone please explain what the propper setup for using ipv6 with simplewall looks like? And also should ICMPv4 also be checked?

Shouldn't ipv6 work with default settings? Are there security issues with it? Every user has to figure out that ipv6 isn't working, then figure out that simplewall is blocking it and then figure out how to enable it, so the exact situation I'm facing now ^^'

Thank you :)

When I make this rule only for firefox, ipv6 still doesn't work so I have to enable it for all apps. simplewall 2

Also this text is a bit confusing, it states that there is no need to make additional (allowed) rules for apps that have already internet access. simplewall 3

App version: <3.8.2> Windows version: <Windows 10 22H2>

okay so from my observation you need to check the app that you want to use (firefox) and system, to make it work ipv6
