[Bug] simplewall.exe does not start or show the main window

simplewall-3.8.4-bin.zip downloaded from github releases page

Windows version

win 11 21h2 (os build 22000.795)

Steps to reproduce

run simplewall.exe simplewall.exe does not start or show the main window the rules are still in effect because i notice that the blocked apps can still not connect to the internet. simplewall version: simplewall-3.8.4-bin.zip downloaded from github releases page windows version: win 11 21h2 (os build 22000.795)

tried this but to no difference: executed simplewall\64\simplewall.exe executed simplewall\64\simplewall.exe with run as admin executed simplewall\32\simplewall.exe downloaded new version simplewall-3.8.4-bin.zip and executed

suggestions: simplewall did popup asking to upgrade but i refused, maybe this has triggered it.

Expected behavior

main window should come up

nothing happens

cant reproduce, any error log in profile directory? can you made process dump?

where is simplewall.ini placed for dump task manager

simplewall is working now - I am not sure why this issue occured or if it will occur again. multiple os reboots and changes made. if it has written any kind of log then let me know the path and I can forward it to you. additional details below.

maybe you use 3.8.3 which have bug with starting? but upgrade to 3.8.4 and all works well

it's happening again right now and i have found a workaround, it seems the simplewall.exe process is still running in the background and after killing it using task manager and running 3.8.4 executable it works but my rules are all gone, then i exit 3.8.4 and run the 3.8.3 executable and that works too. I have now upgraded it from within 3.8.3 gui and my rules are back.

Can you link the github issues causing this here
Does simplewall.exe need the internet access or can i disable it from itself
if i want to upgrade manually and retain my rules can i just copy the newer executable or does it involve more steps?
