slow: phone doesn't respond for many minutes #324

What steps will reproduce the problem?

I suspect this will be hard to reproduce, but:
1. go to any web page, in a browser that has chrome-to-phone installed
2. click chrome-to-phone

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected behavior: my phone starts downloading the file, or visiting the
link, within a couple of seconds. The actual behavior: many minutes pass
before the phone does anything. (And more likely than not, it starts three
simultaneous downloads, because in my impatience I clicked the chrome-to-phone
button three times :-| )

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (
ex. FRFxx ) ? If less than FRF50 - see the FAQ.

GRJ22

Is the phone using WiFi or mobile network when problem occurs ? If Wifi,
are you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?

Wifi, and no, I'm not behind any firewall.

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ?

"Gmail" works perfectly.

Can you open "Talk" application ? Do you see incoming chats ?

"Talk" works perfectly.

The phone is a Nexus S, if that matters.

I suspect this is a dupe of Issue 67

I have the same issue with my HTC Evo. Chrome to phone does't sends links to my
phone instantly anymore. I don't know if it has something to do with the 2-step
verification.

I don't think it has anything to do with 2 step verification. It's achingly
slow for me whether or not 2 step is enabled. The length of time to send the
link to my phone is totally unacceptable and makes the app SUCK.

I'm running the latest version of ICS on a Galaxy Nexus (LTE version). Takes
several minutes to open the link on my phone when connected to 4G. UNACCEPTABLE.
