On my end, I plan to make this feature optional on Settings; truly a provocative, if not divisive feature (on the worst way, incentivizing to farm followers rather than having fun following what is the desire - or, on the other way, incentivizing to post frequently quality content, but humans would mess anyway - as expected).

I have some other PRs I could do, such as enabling uploading the profile pic and cover via IPFS link (so can use a custom gateway), and as extras: diff between Desktop and Mobile profile cover. Ping back @bigint if you are interested, or if you'll ban me org-wide if I do any more PR.
