May Edition #33

Plan

Agenda:

OleMchls commented 7 years ago

After a rather bumpy organisation of the April edition I'd like to do a bit better this time.

I won't be around for this edition, and would like to pass the complete organisation to any volunteer. The documentation in the issue template plus the previous edition issues should be helpful. I'll also assist during preparation.

If we can't find someone within the next 7 days. I need to cancel the May edition. Also I'm thinking if we jus take that as a excuse to start early with the summer break and return with Septemburgers.

Thoughts?

I'm in vacation at the next meetup so unfortunally I cannot support.

BjRo commented 7 years ago

End of May I'll be in the first hot phase of my project. I won't be able to support much. I'm for summer break

narrowtux commented 7 years ago

I could try if nobody else is able to.

OleMchls commented 7 years ago

Sure. I'm happy to assist. I'll also grant you necessary rights on Meetup asap

@narrowtux I just added you as co-organizer on meet up

narrowtux commented 7 years ago

Ignore the mess above :P

narrowtux commented 7 years ago

We have a location!

We from Zenner IoT Solutions would like to invite you to our new office.

The address is

Spaldingstraße 68, 20097 Hamburg

OleMchls commented 7 years ago

@narrowtux that sounds great. I'd suggest to create the meet up.com event ASAP, so people can have a chance to see that we'll meet again. You can use the settings from https://github.com/hh-ex/planning/blob/master/meetup-template.md I usually just write tbd for the agenda part when it's not set.

update: remember that you need to announce the meet up at least 1 week prior to the event, or meet up will do w/o consent

Meetup created ✅

We still need a talk and something for the interactive part. Maybe we can do the GenServer kata (we haven't done that until now right) or some BYOP.

OleMchls commented 7 years ago

Sounds both legit to me. Pick your favourite :) BYOP requires some more moderation :)

I have a problem starting a module (GenServer) multiple times with different IDs (process already started). If s/o wants to have a look at that ^^ Maybe this plays nicely (or is solved) with the GenServer Kata!?

narrowtux commented 7 years ago

Excellent.

I noticed that the "Build your own GenServer" Kata has no repo, only an issue: #19

@BjRo since it's your idea and you're not going to be there anyway, I'd say we don't do it this time since I don't want to take it from you.

Maybe I could write a small kata about Flow and maybe a little GenStage.

erikmueller commented 7 years ago

Maybe I could write a small kata about Flow

👍 And also clarify partitioning and batching ;)

narrowtux commented 7 years ago

Agenda set and meetup announced.

I'll take care of preparing the kata.

narrowtux commented 7 years ago

Done!

OleMchls commented 7 years ago

\o/ Cool! Thanks for jumping in @narrowtux
