At IETF 120 there was a discussion about a new MIME header that would contain or reference structured data, see #3 . In general this idea received wide support.

A similar header signalling where content is has been used in iMIP (see draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-daboo-imip-headers/ according to Ken Murchinson ) .
