Cant load anything #55

I cant seem to get anything working properly on my wife's PC, On my PC I got everything working 100% properly and on my Wife's PC I reinstalled, Unblocked everything on her PC to try to fix it and nothing saves nor anything loads properly, On her PC I updated and reinstalled Overlay to 0.3.3.12, Unblocked everything and Some cases it loads but doesn't save and when I hit settings its always almost Blank and what not. The only difference I see between Mine and hers is I use Firefox as default browser and she uses Chrome Idk if that changes anything.

does any error appears in OverlayPlugin's log pane?

I will have to check it, but I did come across it does parse fine and everything just i cant edit anything now, I also tried compatibility to Win8 and it shows everything there but nothing will work as well cant type or change much.

Just checked it, No errors just everything is blank on both overlay and settings. so im totally sure whats wrong with it.

I am having this same issue. If I do not put ACT into Windows 8 Compatibility mode, kagerou overlay will not work, as well can't change certain things inside the settings. I've tried updating overlayplugin to the most recent one and it did not change anything. Any place that I can type just has a line through it along with changing the colors and importing/exporting settings.

@MinhOh I'm also not sure, please try:

  1. Quit ACT
  2. delete (ACT folder)\Config\RainbowMage.OverlayPlugin.config.xml or something like
  3. reconfigure kagerou again

@Reho01 this is first kind of bug I saw... how about try to get help at r/ACTOverlayPlugin?

I'll try, I just tried deleting the .xml and its just showing nothing in the settings. Just posted here cause @MinhOh was having the same issues as me.

Sorry to piggyback this, but I'm having a similar issue. For me, everything shows up fine, but it seems like the settings never save. I can change the settings fine and the overlay will update correctly, but when I close and re-open ACT (or unload and reload the plugin), the overlay shows up with default settings. I have version 0.3.3.12 of the OverlayPlugin, version 1.5.1.5 of the FFXIV_ACT_Plugin, and version 3.3.1 of ACT itself. And there are no errors showing in the log window, only info entries about the plugin initializing.

I deleted the config.xml file in the ACT folder within AppData/Roaming, and also tried removing the whole ACT folder, and no change.

Also, I'm running on Windows 10, if that helps

@Bigbaddrag I've had the same issue, and the way I resolved it was by running the app as Administrator whenever I wanted to change settings. Otherwise they would never persist after closing, much in the same way you described.
