Some fonts are not available in Linux #73

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Change the Font Family in iReader Options
2.Use iReader to read an article
3.See if the font has changed

What is the expected output?
Every font family should produce a different result in iReader

What do you see instead?
Only Georgia and Verdana changes the result. All other fonts are displayed in
the same way.

Operating system:
Ubuntu 10.04 amd64

I guess that the problem is most fonts are not installed in Ubuntu. I only have
Georgia, Verdana and Times New Roman (I have mscorefonts package installed).

Probably there is no easy solution for this, because most of the fonts missing
are proprietary or have licence problems.

May be a workaround can be to not show as an option the font that are no
available in the system

Good point, it's worth considering.
May you suggest some fonts, available on Ubuntu by default, to add them to the
font list?

There are a lot of free fonts available in Ubuntu, but I am not an expert in
this subject and I wouldn't feel comfortable opining which fonts has the best
readability.
I could suggest checking this fonts I found searching in the internet about
this subject:

Thank you for your work.

That should be taken to consideration: the font should include latin, cyrillic
and other types of fonts, otherwise it will not work on some sites written in
languages that differ from English.

It would be great if iR included "custom font family" option or at least some
popular serif families, such as DejaVu Serif, Liberation Serif, Droid Serif,
Gentium etc.
