I use a custom screen resolution because I prefer everything to be a bit smaller on my SE, 14.4. Usually, I run at 1334x750 (6/7/8 resolution) and it’s all good, but I want to run it at 1472x828 (6+/7+/8+) now, so I have even more room.
I was able to successfully do this on my iPhone 5s, 12.5.1, although I wasn’t using HalFiPad. Same goes for this SE.
As soon as I enable HalFiPad with 1472x828, Substrate drops me into safe mode. 1334x750 and 1136x640 work fine.
